Who is the Next Fastest Man in the World After Usain Bolt?

Imagine getting across 100 meters on foot in less than 10 seconds! It seems impossible for the majority of us, right? That is probably why we love to watch running competitions and cheer for our favorite athletes. Another reason is that many people love to bet on their favorites which is now even more convenient with great bonuses and codes such as BetYetu coupon code. One of our most famous athletes, Usain Bolt, has had a long and successful career as the world’s fastest man. However, ever since he decided to step back and retire in 2017, we can’t help but wonder: Who will be the next athlete to carry that title?

Christian Coleman

It is completely unbelievable that the first person on our list is only 23 years old. Christian Coleman is an American sprinter who has, in his 23 years, accomplished more than we could imagine. He is the world champion in the 100 meters with a personal record of 9.76 seconds. In 2018 he became the champion of the IAAF Diamond League showing everyone that he is here to stay. If the start of his professional career looks like this, we cannot wait to see what’s to come.

Yohan Blake

Yohan Blake is a 30-year-old Jamaican sprinter who has some amazing achievements to brag about. First of all, at 19 he broke the 10-second barrier for 100 m. Then in 2011, he became the 100 m world champion and the youngest person to ever do so. And as if that wasn’t enough, in 2012, 9.69 seconds became his personal best for 100 m. From that point on he was always Bolt’s biggest rival, as he is the second-fastest man in the world both in 100 m as well as 200 m.

Andre De Grasse

This Canadian sprinter has already set many records for his young age. He is only 25 and he already became the first Canadian sprinter to win three medals during one Olympic Games – a silver and two bronze medals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. His personal best for 200 m, 19.80, is also the record in Canada for that length. His latest achievements were the silver and the bronze medals at the 2019 World Championship in Doha.

Justin Gatlin

Justin Gatlin has had a long career full of highs and lows, but he has always managed to come on top and show the world that giving up just isn’t an option for him. This American sprinter had to deal with two doping violations which led to a doping ban that lasted 4 years. However, he returned and became the World Champion in 2017 and then in 2019, he set his personal best for 100 m – 9.87. Just about when people started wondering if he was planning to retire, he proved that age is just a number.

Other potential candidates

These are the four candidates who came closest to breaking Bolt’s records and taking the title of the fastest man in the world. However, there are other potential candidates who are just as eager to show the world what they are made of. Akani Simbine and Wayde van Niekerk from South Africa, Trayvon Bromell and Ronnie Baker from the United States, as well as Chijindu Ujah from Great Britain, are just some of the names of incredible, young sprinters ready to break some records.
