North West Cross Country
Substitute
The Big Freeze which decimated the weekend sporting programme
did not stop the hardy band of local runners who turned out
at wintery Gransha Park in Derry, for a 3.6K romp in the snow
as City of Derry Spartans staged an alternative North West
cross country championships last Saturday.
Aaron Doherty and Jackie McGinley were impressive winners
as 37 runners from a wide range of age groups,served up a
winter wonderland spectacular for the surprisingly large turnout
of spectators.
