Hillview 4 Miler
Pius McIntyre was an emphatic winner of Wednesday
nights Hillview 4 Mile road race out of Brooke Park Leisure
Centre,clocking an impressive 22m 47s for the victory on a
welcome, beautiful night for running. The Foyle Valley man
finished well ahead of clubmates Paddy Nicell and Ryan Snodgrass
who battled hard to decide the minor placings,clocking 23m
21s and 23m 30s respectively.
In fourh and fifth were Ryan Gallagher and
Brian Kelly with 23m 46s and 23m 52s with top local master
runner Peter Lilburn next with another excellent run of 24m
49s. Lorraine Carlin broke 30mins to win the womens race in
29m 21s, ahead of Trish McClintock on 30m 23s and Kate Meehan
32m 08s as 40 runners completed the testing course.
Culmore 5K

The race HQ for next Wednesdays Culmore 5K has been moved
to Hollybush Primary School on Arden Road and entries wil
now be taken there from 6pm for both the 5K and the 1K Fun
Run which will preceed the main event. The Culmore race is
the fourth in the Furey Insurances is sponsored by Joe Jackson
Ice Cream Parlours and expects to attract around 100 participants.
Roberts In Kenya

Greg Roberts leaves today for a three week altitude training
stint in Kenya .The Spartan is working towards this years
Dublin Marathon which wil be used as the trial for Irish selection
for London 2012 and Roberts, bronze medallistin the Nationa
championships there last year is determined to prepare assidiously
for the biggest test of his career. He tavels today with a
small,select group of marathon hopefuls and is confident that
three weeks at altitude will significantly improve his chances
to realising an Olympic dream.
