FUREY INSURANCES 5K SERIES........READY
FOR THE OFF ON WEDNESDAY APRIL 20th !!
All roads will lead to the North West and the Banks of the
Foyle on Wednesday evening April 20th, for the first race
in the ever popular Furey Insurances 5K Series,organised in
the traditional six race format in Derry and Donegal's Inishowen
Peninsula by City of Derry Spartans.
The Series is organised by City of Derry Spartans at four
Derry venues---Bay Road(April 20th) Lisnagelvin(May 11th)
Culmore(June 8th)and Baliniska on the Buncrana Road(July 20th)
plus Buncrana(May 25th) and Carndonagh(June 29th) ...with
Inishowen AC.. just across the Border in Donegal.

The riverside Bay Road course is an officially measured circuit
and is expected to attract around 300 participants for the
7 30pm start. The race incorporates the Athletics NI 5K road
championship,has a £400 plus Prize Fund covering all
the usual categories(U20 to O70) and will also offer a £50
Bonus if the existing male and female course records are broken.
The records are: Greg Roberts 15m 15s Cathy McCourt 17m 38s
The overall Series is backed by Furey Insurances with local
Motor Dealers Donnolly and Taggart, the Bay Road race sponsors
and registration will be taken on the night courtesy of UU
Magee in their Northland Road Campus,Sports Centre,from 5
30pm. The entry fee is £8 or E10. Post race refreshments
will be available at the Awards Presentation back at UU Magee.

Registration on race night.
Overall Rewards

Everyone who completes at least 4 of the 6 races will get
a high spec Series T Shirt. Also based on the best 4 Performances,the
Winner and Runner Up(Male/Female) in each of the Open/Masters/U20
Categories will share an £800 Overall Prize Fund. The
Masters performances will be age graded !!
